Serious Maintenance Issues, Avoid Positive: The host was quick to respond to complaints but unfortunately was ultimately unhelpful. Negative: House had several maintenance issues, worse of all being that the oven didn't work. Reported it immediately but it took them 3 days to send somebody out and when they did that person didn't appear to know what the problem was and did nothing to fix it so issue was never resolved as we left the next day.

Comfortable space for a family that has almost everything you'd need. Positive: Overall, our stay was very comfortable. It's a really nice, aesthetically pleasing home. You'd have everything you need, and it's perfect for a family. We had two kids, and we had a comfortable time. The house is kept clean, and there are cleaning materials in case you need them. We stayed for several nights. Bonus: It's close to Livingston North, and at the station, you'd find the best fish & chips in town -- La Capanna! Negative: When we arrived, the house felt airtight and closed off for a while, so it felt a bit hot and uncomfortable. But after a while, once you've opened the windows, it should be fine. I would recommend, if possible, maintenance come a few hours earlier to get some air flowing so that when guests arrive, it feels pleasant. Perhaps some electric fans on the second floor would also be a great idea. It could get really warm upstairs. Last thing, although this is nothing from the owner, do note that this is quite far from the busy city. It's a very quiet place, and there aren't many establishments nearby that you can just walk to. You can drive, or order a taxi, though. Also, as I mentioned, the nearby train station was convenient and connected us to Edinburgh quite easily.
